Worldwide Book Drive donates 56,000 books!!!
Worldwide Book Drive is excited to announce its largest single donation of books since its conception in 2006. Worldwide Book Drive donated 55,951 books to the World Trust Foundation Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
The World Trust Foundation will partner with several other non-profit organizations and others entities for the “Feed Las Vegas” service event where over 3,000 families will receive thanksgiving dinner, a weeks worth of food, toiletries, and other supplies. The books will be distributed to individuals, families, and homes during the event.
The donated books include adult literacy novels, juvenile novels, and children’s books.
Worldwide Book Drive is happy to participate and contribute to the drive.
Dallin is a 12 year old boy scout from Farmington, Utah just completing his Eagle project. He likes many things and usually sticks with them to the end. He is a black belt in karate, has played the violin for 7 years and he is starting the 7th grade at Farmington Jr. High.
Russel Langford delivered over 1,200 books to complete his Eagle Project. Russel worked with his family as well as other scouts to spread fliers around his neighborhood and city. He later returned and collected books which he later sorted, boxed, and brought to Worldwide Book Drive’s warehouse to be distributed in order to maximize the value of each of the books. We here at Worldwide Book Drive appreciate Russel and his hard work. Congratulations on a job well done, and you’re final step to becoming an Eagle Scout!
